🌙Eid Mubarak from everyone at Treat Kitchen - the Sweet Joy of Celebrating Together

Lydia McDonald

At Treat Kitchen, we love any moment that brings people together — and lately, we’ve been spending time learning about Eid al‑Fitr, the joyful celebration that marks the end of the month of Ramadan. We’ve discovered what a beautifully warm, reflective, and community‑focused celebration it is.

Just like Easter the date of Eid al-Fitr changes every year depending on when the new crescent moon is seen this means the exact date can vary from country to country! Eid is celebrated by over 1.8 billion Muslims worldwide. It’s one of the largest religious celebrations on the planet, with traditions that vary beautifully from country to country. Often families decorate their houses with beautiful lanterns and decorations.

One thing that really resonated with us is that Eid is all about kindness, gratitude, sharing, and connection — themes that feel universal, whatever your background might be. The idea of coming together after a month of discipline and reflection, of checking in with others, and of spreading joy through food, gifts, and time spent together… that really inspired us.

We also learned with great delight that sweets can often play a role in Eid celebrations with Eid al Fitr sometimes being known as “the festival of sweets”. Whilst gummy sweets might not be as prevalent as dates and traditional desserts, they can be a joyful little way people share happiness with others.

Sweet Treats for Sharing: Party Pantry sweet selections

With that spirit in mind, we realised that some of the goodies in our Party Pantry range fit really naturally into the joy of Eid being as they are all certified Halal. Bright colours, fun shapes in 1kg bags, made for gathering around and dipping into — they feel perfectly suited to those tables full of guests.

We’ve also been thinking a lot about inclusivity, especially for families with vegan members, friends, or guests. That’s why our vegan sweets have become such a lovely option for celebrations like this — they allow everyone to join in without feeling like they’re missing out.
