TREAT KITCHEN SUPPORTING OUR ENVIRONMENT!

As a small business we are always looking at ways in which we can have a positive impact on our environment. As well as supporting people in our local community we also want to make a difference to our local and wider natural environment. Here are some of our initiatives...

LESS THAN 1% PACKAGING WASTE ON OUR BEST SELLING MESSAGE BOTTLES

Our signature message bottles are made from glass so can be easily recycled at home. They are also perfect for upcycling for storage, as a vase, cocktail shaker or mini terrarium. The label can be easily removed and the seal can be recycled. We are working with our supplier to hopefully one day soon make the label recyclable too.

Our 90g sour pots can be recycled or re-used as handy storage pots.

Were possible use FSC certified cardboard for our packaging.

We have worked with the NTU (Nottingham Trent University).

CONNECTING WITH NATURE

We’ve funded the planting of over 36,000 tress around the world.

We’ve supported the prevention of 577.54 tCO2e from being emitted through 25 verified carbon avoidance projects.

We’ve funded fruit trees, plants and tools for the Nottingham branch of the Canal & River Trust’s social prescribing programme.

We regularly support our neighbours Stonebridge City Farm with donations to support their commitment to free entry to the local community so they can learn more about the natural world.

Encourage hybrid working to reduce emissions from commuting.

We have electric vehicle chargers on site–two team members who have the longest commute use these.

Using the Ecosia search engine which uses all its profits for climate action, with the majority going into tree-planting projects around the world.

POSITIVE PACKING

All our incoming boxes are recycled into packing material for our wholesale and online orders. So not only does the crinkle cut packing material help keep your products safe it also helps us reduce our outgoing waste.

Excess stock from our packing process is either sold through our TikTok shop or donated to local charities like Base 51 for them to use in their fundraising initiatives.

We run gingerbread decorating workshops for local charities like Stonebridge City Farm to use up any excess or broken stock.

This Christmas Leah our Buying Director arranged for us to donate Gingerbread Kits to a charity called The Basket Brigade. Basket Brigade UK is a loving, charitable organisation who deliver baskets of food, love and hope on December 23rd every year to those who could really do with a helping hand at Christmas.
