It’s Mother’s Day on the 15th of March and all the planning we have been doing here at Treat Kitchen has got me thinking about my own Mum.
💛 To My Mum - My Quiet Hero
She’s the person I turn to whether I need advice, a listening ear, or simply reminding that everything is going to be okay. She swoops in to help with the children, turns up with cakes when I need a boost, and makes the world’s best beef stew and dumplings — the kind that makes the whole house smell like comfort.
When I’m utterly exhausted, there’s no place I’d rather be than her cosy bungalow, cuppa in hand, watching a lovely film while the world slows down for just a moment.
She’s also the woman who can look at my garden beds and immediately tell me what’s a plant and what’s a weed - a skill I still don’t possess. She even grows seedlings for me so I can pretend I’m more accomplished in the garden than I really am.
Running a confectionery company it’s no coincidence that a lot of my family members have a sweet tooth – including Mum so I’ll definitely be getting her one of our sweet treats this year…
