We Opened a Shop!
Can you believe it was 7 months ago that we opened our store? Time really does fly! It was just about the end of May this year that we made a comeback on the Nottingham high-street in a brand spanking new location in the Victoria Centre where so many of you lovely locals have paid us a visit, satisfied a sweet-tooth or two and supported your community! We’re so proud of our little store and can’t wait to keep making your shopping trips a little bit sweeter in the year ahead
We Won Awards
There was a lot of cause for celebration this year, but a biggie for us was winning awards left right and centre (and not just because it gave us all a chance to get dolled up)! Just recently we took home awards for Outstanding Growth and Community Impact at the Nottinghamshire Business Awards Ceremony and we’re so incredibly proud to be recognized for these amazing achievements and for the hard work of our team to get noticed!
We focused on Sustainability
We also stepped our sustainability game up a notch by signing up to go climate positive! We committed to planting one tree for every order made and off-setting our staff’s carbon footprints, whilst also upping the recyclability and reusability of our products! So far, we’ve planted over 15,000 trees and off-set over 240,000 TONS of C02, and oh boy are we just getting started – as we growwe’re dedicated to continue and improve our efforts to look after our planet, can you just imagine what those numbers are going to be like by this time next year!?
We got new offices & warehouse spaces!
New offices, who dis? At the start of the year we expanded to TWO new office and warehouse spaces! We felt it was about time we stretched our legs a bit and made a little more room so that we could get so many more delicious goodies out to you, with brand new dedicated spaces for each of our departments where our team had free reign to make the spaces their own with a lick of paint or two (and boy did they deliver!)
We did a lot of charity work!
We really put our all into supporting our charity partners this year to help our local community to thrive! With your help we donated 1000 easter gifts to vulnerable children with @ forgetmenottsoo ,donated a portion of sales from our Easter collection to @ stonebridgecityfarm to help their volunteers who were heavily impacted by covid-19, launched a collection in collaboration with @ base51_outburst to help fund the only LGBTQ+ safe space in Nottingham, and finally donated 100% of our profits from Black Friday to @ direcovery ! Thank you for all of your continued support in helping us to give back in 2021, it’s been a great one!
We branched out!
We’ve worked hard this year in getting our products into as many retailers as possible, so our lovely customers can access them easier than ever! We can now be found in 4,500 stores across the UK meaning your Treat Kitchen goodies are never too far away! Oh, and not forgetting our expanding global presence from Canada to Norway to the UAE to Australia! TTK has gone global!
We visited Trade Shows
In 2021 Treat Kitchen travelled far and wide, from London Design Festival with our design team to Anuga Trade Fair in Cologne, Germany! We certainly made up for the lost time of 2020 by experiencing new things, getting inspired and finding a wealth of new opportunities!
We welcomed New Team Members
This year we also welcomed several new members of the team including lovely Emma (our sales administrator), fabulous Shaelyn (our warehouse administrator), and wonderful Thomas ( our technical assistant)! We honestly don’t know how we used to manage without this lot now, our not so little Treat Kitchen family continues to grow and grow!
We carried out Photoshoots
2021 was the year we finally held some swanky photoshoots (to the strong relief of our resident photography-wizz Santa); we brought in models, booked locations and had an all-round fabulous time showing off our sweets in style!
We Rebranded
Let me tell you, we were shocked when we realised our re-branding was only this year, it feels like a lifetime ago we were sat dreaming up what the future of Treat Kitchen looked like! We had a major makeover to breathe a little more life back into our look with bright new colours, a sweet new logoand fancy new graphics, can you believe the comparison!? A massive glow up, if we do say so ourselves!
