Treat Kitchen Hosts Industrial Estate Clean-Up in Nottingham

Lydia McDonald

At Treat Kitchen, we’re all about doing things a little differently- and our recent Mega Litter Pick Party was no exception! With the help of It’s in Nottingham, who kindly lent us all the equipment, we rallied businesses from our Nottingham industrial estate for an hour of community clean-up… followed, of course, by cake.

We invited our neighbours to join us in giving our shared space a well-earned refresh, and we were thrilled to be joined by brilliant local businesses including Stewarts Coffee and Invincible Rubber. Armed with grabbers, gloves and bin bags, we set off to see what we could find. And wow, did we find a lot…

Among the crisp packets, drink cans, and general rubbish, there were a few noteworthy discoveries. Most unexpected? A toilet (yes, really!) and an extremely old bra, both lurking in overgrown corners. Honourable mention goes to the mountain of discarded vapes and vape packaging- easily the most common item of the day!

In just 60 minutes, we made a visible difference to the area and had some good laughs along the way. It was a great reminder of the power of teamwork and just how much local businesses can achieve when we join forces for a shared cause.

Of course, no Treat Kitchen event is complete without something sweet, so everyone who got stuck in was rewarded with a delicious spread of cakes and treats—because doing good should taste good too. 🍰

We’re proud to be a Nottingham-based business that cares about our local environment and community. Whether it’s clearing litter, supporting local charities, or baking up a little joy, we’re always looking for ways to give back.

Thinking of joining us for the next one? We’d love to make this a regular event and get even more local businesses involved. Because when we work together, we create cleaner spaces, stronger connections—and maybe even find the occasional rogue loo.
