Meet Our Spring/Summer 2027 Collection: The Sweet Trends We're Loving

Lydia McDonald

Our Spring/Summer 2027 catalogue has landed – and this one is a good'un.

Every season, we look at what people are buying, what they're talking about and, most importantly, what they're going to want next. SS27 is all about products that feel exciting on the shelf, give shoppers something to talk about and tap into the bigger trends shaping gifting and confectionery.

From premium chocolate gifts and nostalgia-led products to texture, bold flavours and the ever-growing sour sweets category, this collection has a little bit of everything. And while we may be biased, there are a few new launches we're particularly excited about...

New Chocolate Jars

We're kicking things off with something a little different for Treat Kitchen. Our brand new Chocolate Jars are a step into a more premium side of gifting for us – and we are VERY excited about them. Think indulgent chocolate treats, grown-up flavours and seriously good textures, all packed into giftable jars.

We're talking Triple Coated Coffee Beans, Brownie Fudge Bites and more exciting flavour combinations that feel a little bit different from your usual chocolate gift. And that's exactly the point. Chocolate is one of those products that everyone knows and loves, but we're seeing shoppers become more interested in premium versions, interesting flavours and products that offer more of an experience. Barry Callebaut's 2026 chocolate trends report, developed in partnership with WGSN, highlights the growing importance of sensory experiences in chocolate, with consumers looking for contrasts in texture, unexpected combinations and products that deliver more than just a standard chocolate hit (Barry Callebaut, 2026).

That makes our Chocolate Jars a really exciting fit for the premium gifting and affordable luxury trend. They're the kind of gift that looks right at home on a farm shop shelf, in a premium gift shop or alongside other foodie treats – but still has that Treat Kitchen sense of fun. And the flavours? Let's just say you probably haven't seen these on the shelf before.

Gummy Chocolate Bears: Need We Say More?

Probably not. Gummy. Chocolate. Bears. It's basically two of the best things on the planet getting together. Our Gummy Chocolate Bears take colourful, chewy gummy bears and cover them in delicious chocolate. It's nostalgic, playful and completely impossible to walk past. And this is one of those products where the trend is pretty obvious: texture. Texture is becoming a huge part of confectionery innovation, with brands experimenting with combinations of crunchy, chewy, creamy and crispy textures to make sweets more interesting and memorable (ConfectioneryNews, 2026).

Our gummy bears are basically the whole thing in one sweet. Soft, chewy gummy. Smooth chocolate. Two textures. One very good sweet. Iconic.

Decades Cartons: Nostalgia Is Still Going Nowhere

If there's one thing we know about nostalgia, it's that people can't seem to get enough of it. Our Decades Milk Cartons tap straight into that feeling, bringing together the sweets, colours and memories associated with the 80s, 90s and 00s in a fun gifting format. And nostalgia isn't just a fleeting confectionery fad.

Recent industry trend reports continue to highlight retro flavours and familiar formats as a major part of confectionery NPD, with brands taking nostalgic favourites and giving them a modern twist (ConfectioneryNews, 2026). It makes sense. People love buying something that reminds them of being a kid – and gifting something that reminds someone else of theirs is even better.

That's why nostalgia works particularly well for gifting. You can buy the 90s carton for your mate who still talks about their Tamagotchi. The 80s for the parent who thinks everything was better back then. Or the 00s for the person who still considers low-rise jeans a personal attack. Nostalgia + sweets + gifting = a pretty solid combination.

More Sours!!!

And finally, we couldn't do SS27 without talking about sours. The sour category just keeps growing, and it's not difficult to see why. Sour sweets aren't just something you eat. They're an experience. The face. The reaction. The “NO WAY THAT'S SOUR!!!.” The immediate need to give one to your mate to see if they pull the same face. Sour has become a hugely social category, helped along by taste tests, challenges and viral food content. Industry reporting shows that sour profiles are becoming increasingly mainstream, with new sour launches growing significantly in recent years as consumers look for stronger and more adventurous flavour experiences (Schumann & Sohn, 2026).

And social media has only made that bigger. Extreme sour challenges, sweet hauls, taste tests and reaction videos have turned certain sweets into content as well as confectionery. That makes sour sweets particularly interesting for retailers. They're not just something to put on a shelf. They're something customers can try, share, film, talk about and buy again for someone else.

Basically, they're the perfect example of experiential gifting – a trend we're seeing more and more across confectionery. And yes, we have even more sours coming to SS27. Because apparently we haven't learnt our lesson yet.

So, What's Trending for Spring/Summer 2027?

If we had to sum up SS27 in a few words, we'd say: Nostalgia. Texture. Premium treats. Bold flavours. Experience. Consumers are increasingly looking for confectionery that gives them something beyond simply satisfying a sweet tooth. Whether that's a nostalgic memory, an interesting texture, a premium gifting moment or a reaction worth filming, the category is becoming much more about the experience of the product.

Barry Callebaut's 2026 chocolate trend research highlights this shift towards more sensory, shareable and gifting-friendly confectionery, while wider industry reporting points to nostalgia, texture and premiumisation as important themes across new product development (Barry Callebaut, 2026; ConfectioneryNews, 2026). And that's exactly what we've tried to bring into our new collection.

From the more premium Chocolate Jars, to the completely iconic Gummy Chocolate Bears, nostalgia-packed Decades Cartons and increasingly sour Sour range, SS27 is full of products designed to stand out. Because ultimately, that's what we want our products to do. Make someone stop. Make them smile. Make them pick it up. And, ideally, make them think: “Oh, I haven't seen this before.”
